Character Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Character Designer to join our team of creatives.


About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing original characters from concept to completion, crafting engaging and immersive designs for various media. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain visual consistency and uphold brand standards.

A key aspect of this role is presenting design concepts, soliciting feedback, and refining designs to meet stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate will also stay current with industry trends, emerging design styles, and best practices to inspire innovative character concepts.

Additionally, the Character Designer will create comprehensive documentation and style guides outlining character features, color palettes, and visual direction to ensure seamless implementation across projects.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Concept Development: Develop original characters from concept to completion, incorporating creative input from stakeholders.
  2. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including creative directors, project managers, and designers, to maintain visual consistency and uphold brand standards.
  3. Presentation and Feedback: Present design concepts, solicit feedback, and refine designs to meet stakeholder expectations.
  4. Industry Staying Current: Stay current with industry trends, emerging design styles, and best practices to inspire innovative character concepts.
  5. Documentation and Style Guides: Create comprehensive documentation and style guides outlining character features, color palettes, and visual direction.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Expertise in Character Design: Demonstrated expertise in character design and development, with a strong understanding of product or merchandising design principles.
  • Strong Collaboration and Communication Skills: Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to Iterate Based on Feedback: Ability to iterate based on feedback and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Staying Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Strong desire to stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
