Debt Recovery Specialist

The role of debt recovery specialist requires the individual to engage with customers in negotiations and discussions related to payment methods and terms. This entails maintaining accurate records of customer interactions, updating information as needed, and ensuring that communication is exceptional.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop effective negotiation strategies using critical thinking and questioning techniques to overcome objections from customers.
  • Ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and scripts while interacting with clients.
  • Efficiently record details of all communications and activities within the system.
  • Proactively monitor and investigate accounts to gather relevant information supporting collection efforts.
  • Identify cases requiring special handling based on company criteria, including legal actions and asset attachment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Meet and exceed set collection goals.

Requirements:

  • Graduation in finance or a related field is essential.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in debt collection, finance, or compliance is required.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to multitask are necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer software, particularly Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent English communication (verbal and written) skills are vital.
  • Experience with third-party bank database systems is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in sales or collections is advantageous.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
