The Aga Khan University Hospital provides access to healthcare services through its Outreach Services across multiple cities in Pakistan.
Apart from its five hospitals, AKUH has a network of four secondary care hospitals, thirty plus medical centres and over two hundred ninety clinical laboratories, thirty plus pharmacies in over one hundred twenty cities across Pakistan.
Our Outreach Services are designed to provide primary to secondary healthcare services to patients near their homes and are present in several cities across Pakistan.
We offer outpatient medical centres that cater to children, adults and elderly patients for general health checks or specific disease consultations.
Key Responsibilities- Dispense medications in inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory pharmacies.
- Review and process physician orders for accurate therapeutic doses.
- Monitor lab reports for proper indication of antibiotics, drug-drug interactions and duplication of same class.
- Ensure timely delivery of medication to nursing units and patients.
- Verify the accuracy of labels before dispensing medications.
- Complete expiry of drug lists on an accurate and timely basis.
- Assist in patient counseling for outpatient prescriptions and maintenance of cash.
- Prepare sterile injections, bulk compounding and monitor chemo critical lists.
- Manage inventory and expiry of products.
- Hold a Doctorate or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university.
- Have traineeship experience in Retail Pharmacy or a medium/large hospital, preferably with one year of experience in a similar capacity.
- Familiarity with hospital pharmacy functioning.
- Sound knowledge of physiology, pharmacology and pharmaceutical sciences.
- Familiarity with locally available drugs, pharmaceuticals and their indications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with medical professionals.
- Willingness to work in shift duties.
