Job Title: Tax Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Tax Specialist to join our team. As a Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for providing assistance in overall tax planning, refunds, exemption planning, and routine tax matters.

  • The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience in paint manufacturing or the chemical raw material industry.
  • They should have a full grasp of Sales Tax practices and exemptions.
  • A strong command over the Income Tax Ordinance and ability to obtain various admissible exemptions under the law.
  • Knowledge of various SROs relating to import and GST is essential.
  • Experience in obtaining refunds from the Income Tax Department is required.
  • Exposure to issues relating to double taxation treaties is necessary.

You will be responsible for counterchecking routine tax returns being submitted by the company, handling all tax audits, performing complex tax research with the aim of providing benefits to the organization, preparing tax planning, assisting accounting staff members in client meetings, reviewing tax accruals, analyzing Tax authorities' notices, drafting responses, reviewing Tax authorities' notice responses prepared by other tax personnel, delegating work to tax staff, supervising their work through a proper work plan, making presentations to management regarding any issues identified, preparing Tax MIS, incorporating it into software, updating senior management regarding any potential or actual change in the tax environment through regular Tax Alerts.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must be part qualified with any Chartered Accountancy & LLB and have work experience with any of the BIG FOUR Firms. You should be a self-starter and a team player. The maximum age limit is 70 years. The job is based in Lahore and offers very attractive remuneration commensurate with your profile, along with benefits and career growth.
