System Assurance Specialist

To assess and evaluate the effectiveness of information systems, ensuring they safeguard assets, maintain data integrity, and operate efficiently to achieve organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough analyses of internal IS audit projects to determine the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of management control systems, company activities, processes, and procedures involving complex or high-risk operational, financial, management, or technical considerations surrounding computerized information systems.
  • Review and appraise the soundness and sufficiency of IT installations, applications, and operation as a service to senior management. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of IS controls, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with operational audit staff on integrated audits.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and document information to prepare comprehensive, effective, and timely IS audit reports.
  • Participate in reviewing the design and development of significant new information systems or applications, and significant changes.
  • Assess general controls of the IS function to determine whether controls have been designed according to management direction and legal requirements; operating effectively to provide reliability, integrity, and security over data being processed; and financial management and control is adequate.
  • Review application controls of significant installed information systems to assess their reliability in processing data in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.
Job Requirements

Qualification: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent certification (e.g., CISA). Experience: Minimum 3-4 years related work experience in the field of IS Audit, preferably in the banking sector.

Essential Competencies
  • Solid understanding of information systems concepts.
  • Strong technical knowledge of network and server operating systems, databases, and hardware relevant to the environment.
  • Effective report writing skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with personal computers (PCs) and local area network (LAN/WAN) theory.
