Job Description

The Procurement Professional oversees procurement activities, reporting directly to senior leadership. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing efficient purchasing procedures, maintaining liaison with vendors for cooperative buying opportunities, and researching commodity areas for standardization and cost savings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develops and reviews administrative, purchasing, and clerical procedures to ensure economy and efficiency of the system.
• Maintains liaison with vendors to explore potential savings through cooperative buying agreements.
• Researches and evaluates commodity areas to identify opportunities for standardization and addition to the qualified products list.
• Supervises and participates in the preparation of financial and administrative reports.
• Establishes priorities, assigns workloads, and reviews complex assignments to ensure timely completion.
• Interprets contract provisions, reviews contracts for accuracy, and ensures timely renewal.
• Provides liaison between vendors, contractors, and officials to ensure seamless customer service.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in MS-Office software
• Reviews purchase requisitions for proper authorization
• Identifies potential suppliers, issues requests for quotations, and analyzes supplier performance
• Selects suppliers, issues purchase orders, and expedites as necessary
• May monitor storeroom stocks and initiate orders within established guidelines
• Assists in market trend studies to inform procurement decisions
