Lectureship in Optometry/Ophthalmology

We are seeking an experienced academic to join our faculty as a lecturer in optometry/orthoptics.

1. Meet annual targets assigned by the Head of Department.
2. Work towards achieving high-quality teaching and learning outcomes for students.
3. Teach assigned courses according to faculty workload policies.
4. Continuously develop teaching and learning skills, contributing to planning and development of teaching programs.
5. Employ innovative teaching strategies, facilitating experiential learning during lessons.
6. Challenge students' thinking, foster debate, and promote critical discourse and rational thinking.
7. Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements as required.
8. Assess work, set examinations, and provide feedback to students.
9. Maintain records of students' academic performance for internal evaluation.
10. Mentor 15-20 students through the Riphah Mentoring Program.
11. Update data in virtual learning environments (VLEs) and other software as needed.
12. Incorporate Islamic and ethical values into teaching and participate in departmental and university committee activities.
13. Ensure teaching content aligns with the institution's mission and responds to staff and student needs.
14. Monitor student attendance in classes, labs, and practical sessions.
15. Contribute to research publications or disseminate findings using appropriate media.
16. Pursue practical applications of research findings.
17. Carry out independent research and lead projects as principal investigator.
18. Act as a line manager, supervising others in research teams and projects, or supervise PhD students when required.
