Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the Senior Policy Expert in conducting policy research and analysis on various thematic areas and sectors of energy efficiency and conservation in Pakistan.

The role involves facilitating interdepartmental knowledge sharing, producing evidence-based information aligned with operational areas, and identifying barriers to energy efficiency promotion through regional research.

The position requires an energetic, motivated, and creative individual with a Bachelor's degree or currently pursuing postgraduate studies in a relevant field. Key responsibilities include:

  • Source primary baseline consumption data for key sectors of the economy.
  • Review, update, and strategize follow-up on national energy efficiency policies in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Develop policy advocacy materials such as white papers and project impact evaluations to support EE policy acceptance and integration.
  • Support establishing energy efficiency standards, programs, and labeling regimes to promote energy conservation.
  • Identify barriers to EE promotion and initiate policy interventions to address them.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop EE&C policies.
  • Assist in establishing provincial/regional designated agencies.
  • Support efforts to set up Energy Conservation Tribunals by researching frameworks in regional countries.
  • Create linkages with multinational donors for technical assistance and to promote energy efficiency initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have at least 3-4 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 2 years in the energy sector. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a recognized university is also required. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
