IT Support Specialist Role Overview

Job Description:

This IT Support Specialist position requires delivering top-notch technical assistance to team members. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, as well as supporting remote work setups and VPN connectivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert IT support to team members via various communication channels.
  • Resolve technical issues across hardware, software, and peripheral systems.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of a secure IT infrastructure.
System Health and Maintenance:
  • Perform regular system health checks, updates, and preventive maintenance to ensure peak performance.
  • Assist with network configuration and support, including routers, switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi systems.
Asset Management and Tracking:
  • Set up, configure, and deploy laptops, workstations, and other IT equipment.
  • Manage IT inventory, including procurement and retirement of devices.
Security and Risk Management:
  • Enforce IT security policies and procedures to maintain a secure environment.
  • Support existing security certifications (e.g., SOC 1, SOC 2, PCI DSS).
  • Maintain incident and risk management registers, documenting events and corrective actions.
Knowledge Sharing and Documentation:
  • Maintain records of support requests, resolutions, asset inventory, and system configurations.
  • Contribute to internal IT documentation and process improvement initiatives.
Preferred Tools and Platforms:

ManageEngine ITSM suite experience is highly desirable for ticketing, asset management, and remote support.

Sophos Antivirus or similar endpoint protection solutions familiarity is advantageous.

AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) exposure is beneficial.

Prior IT control maintenance experience is highly desirable.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent experience also considered.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in Windows and macOS environments; experience with common IT systems, networks, and support tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills for identifying and resolving IT issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Communication Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems efficiently, even under pressure.
  • Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities, ensuring a streamlined IT support operation.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and share knowledge across the organization.
