Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated support staff member to join our team in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our department.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and tidiness of the department, including dusting horizontal surfaces, emptying wastebaskets, cleaning bathrooms, and vacuuming carpets. You will also be expected to inform supervisors of any wear and tear in assigned areas and attend to emergency cleaning requests when required.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness by dusting all horizontal surfaces daily.
  • Empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays on a regular basis.
  • Clean bathrooms, metal and porcelain fixtures thoroughly.
  • Wipe furniture with a damp cloth to prevent dirt and stains.
  • Clean floors using a mop to ensure they remain spotless.
  • Clean patient rooms and beds after discharge to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Vacuum carpets promptly to remove dust and stains.
  • Clean walls and windows as assigned to keep the department looking its best.
  • Inform supervisors of any wear and tear in assigned areas to prevent further damage.
  • Attend to emergency cleaning requests when required to ensure the department remains tidy at all times.
Requirements
  • No formal education; middle school preferred for basic understanding of cleaning practices.
  • No prior experience is required, but a willingness to learn is essential.

  • A basic knowledge of hygiene is crucial for this role, as you will be interacting with patients and their belongings.
  • Good physical fitness is necessary to perform tasks that require lifting and moving equipment.

  • Ability to follow simple instructions in Urdu regarding work responsibilities.
