
Assistant Manager

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager - Risk Control to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial risk management, regulatory compliance, and advisory services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with general ledger (GL) and management reporting challenges, developing and reviewing policies and procedures across accounting, operational, and technical domains, and providing insights on key risks and challenges in ERP/financial system implementation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with GL and management reporting challenges
- Develop and review policies and procedures
- Provide insights on key risks and challenges in ERP/financial system implementation projects
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify accounting/reporting challenges and develop solutions
- Support the team manager with engagement planning and project management
- Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) for clients
- Assist clients with preparing financial statements according to applicable accounting frameworks
- Help clients transform their finance functions, restructure processes, and design control frameworks
- Draft Target Operating Models (TOMs) for Finance departments
- Prepare approach/methodology proposals for client RFPs
- Build relationships with key client staff and engage professionally
- Document complex business processes to identify operational inefficiencies and non-compliant situations
Qualifications:
- ACCA/CPA/CFA/CA qualification or a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business, Accounting & Finance, Economics, or equivalent from a reputable university
Skills:
- Experience with IFRS GAP/impact assessments and implementation
- Expertise in providing advisory services for accounting framework transitions (e.g., IFRS for SME to full adoption of IFRS)
- Complex accounting and reporting advice experience in public and private sectors
- Middle East accounting practices and regulations knowledge
- Understanding of IFRS framework including IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IFRS 17, and IFRS 9
- Fluency in English is mandatory; bilingual candidates with Arabic fluency are preferred
