Quantitative Engineer - Financial Data Systems Specialist

We're seeking a skilled Quantitative Engineer to design and implement robust financial data systems, leveraging their expertise in market dynamics and engineering principles. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with complex financial datasets.

About the Role

  • Design and deploy scalable infrastructure for ingesting, cleaning, and storing large-scale financial markets data.
  • Develop and optimize quantitative research pipelines to enable signal testing, factor analysis, and model validation.
  • Collaborate with investment professionals to build tools supporting portfolio construction, stress testing, and asset allocation decisions.
  • Create backtesting engines for long/short equity, macro, and digital asset strategies.
  • Integrate AI/ML models and insights into trading and research workflows.
  • Automate and monitor data pipelines for real-time market data feeds from APIs, exchanges, and alternative data providers.
  • Build internal dashboards and analytics tools for visualizing strategy performance, exposures, and risk.
  • Ensure data accuracy and reliability through robust logging, alerting, and reconciliation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of financial data structures, time series analysis, and asset pricing concepts.
  • Experience handling market data such as equities (OHLCV, fundamentals), crypto, FX, rates, and macro indicators.
  • Background in systematic investing, quant research, or quant trading infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Python and common libraries used in quantitative finance (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, PyFolio, Zipline, Backtrader).
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred), containerization, and CI/CD.
  • Knowledge of performance attribution, factor models, and portfolio optimization is a strong plus.
  • Prior experience with backtesting engines, alpha research tools, or strategy simulators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a quant-focused or engineering role at an investment firm, hedge fund, prop trading shop, or fintech.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle large-scale market data systems with high reliability and low latency.
  • Experience working on or supporting systematic investment strategies or quantitative research workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills in a remote team environment.
