Job Title:

Category Specialist Own Brands

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Build a strong network of new and existing suppliers, ensuring genuine and sustainable partnerships.
  • Oversee sales performance, income, assortment, stock days, planogram, and category dress-up for OB products.
  • Maximize growth from all suppliers and generate profit by selling their products in the right channels.
  • Grow METRO Own brands to deliver key strategic objectives.
  • Review brand/supplier performance and profitability.
  • Negotiate business plans with partners to attract strategic customers, increase customer base, and enhance basket size.
  • Identify gaps in assortment based on local market needs.
  • Monitor daily sales and margins on articles and take corrective actions to safeguard margin erosion.
  • Assist the category in determining and changing purchase and sale prices, preparing price comparisons.
  • Visit, evaluate, and select suitable suppliers and assist the Senior Buyer in deciding terms and conditions.
  • Implement and maintain the planogram at each store according to the ARP Model.
  • Determine and continuously maintain the ideal assortment for the given area, considering turnover, profit, and stock level.
  • Keep records of changes in articles and prepare action plans.
  • Maintain the article/supplier database through METRO Management System (MMS).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • University degree (Master's or Bachelor's) from an HEC-recognized institution.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in category management.
  • Preference for experience in modern wholesale/retail environments.
