Data Engineer Role Overview

As a Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization by designing and building scalable data pipelines. This involves integrating and processing data from diverse sources using Apache Kafka and other ingestion tools, as well as building ETL workflows leveraging PySpark and managing orchestration with Apache Airflow.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Integrate and process large datasets from various sources using Apache Kafka and other data ingestion tools.
  • Build complex ETL workflows utilizing PySpark for efficient data transformation and management.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring data integrity and quality.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.
  • Proficient in Python programming, particularly with PySpark for data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming and AWS Redshift/Snowflake for data warehousing.
  • Solid understanding of workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for scalability and flexibility.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker) for efficient deployment.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in data engineering.
