About the Role:
Staff Medical OfficerWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Medical Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional medical care to our patients, ensuring their health and well-being.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical settings, preferably with experience in emergency medicine or trauma care. They will also possess excellent communication skills, able to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
The role involves conducting routine medical check-ups, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and providing preventive care to patients. The Staff Medical Officer will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities:- Risk Management: Design and implement a risk-based occupational health system to protect employee health and prevent job injuries.
- Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Health Assessments: Perform occupational health risk assessments, Health and Fitness to Work assessments, and OHIH Baseline and surveillance for employees and contractors.
- Screening Programs: Develop and implement health screening programs for employees and contractors, focusing on injury prevention and early detection of health issues.
- Field-Based Monitoring Systems: Establish systems to reduce staff exposure to hazardous substances, noise, and chemical products at worksites.
- Expert Advice and Support: Provide expert advice on preventing job injuries and support related to the organization's Well-Being Program.
- Awareness and Learning Sessions: Coordinate awareness and learning sessions with the Learning Department on Occupational Health and Safety (OHIH) best practices.
Requirements:
- MBBS degree with a minimum 10 years of experience in clinical settings, preferably with MCPS or Diploma certification.
- Ability to manage emergencies/trauma patients and work under pressure on different rotations/shifts.
- Experience in field clinics and administration is preferred.
- Possession of a valid license from an accredited Council is mandatory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential.
