Job Description

The role of Transport Planning Associate entails overseeing transport planning from Port Qasim Karachi for the southern region of Pakistan, as well as managing internal transfers between factories. This position is responsible for ensuring timely dispatches and minimizing vehicle halting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily transport requirements need to be executed effectively, maintaining a balance between on-time delivery and efficient use of resources.
  • The associate will oversee AI camera observations for the dedicated fleet, identify areas for improvement, and develop driver training plans accordingly.
  • Resource allocation and management are crucial in this role, including material handling operators and labor, all while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Data compilation and updating on key activities such as overtime, labor productivity, and material handling utilization are essential duties.
  • The monthly inventory reconciliation report needs to be prepared and overseen by the team, ensuring accurate sign-offs.
  • Collaboration with the sales team and customer service team is necessary to ensure smooth ordering and execution.
  • Internal shifting plans need to be coordinated with the demand and supply planner to align supply execution with changing circumstances.
  • Ensuring a steady supply of empty pallets to production and taking corrective action in case of any shortage is critical.
  • Maintaining FEFO (First Expired, First Out) status control during loading is vital.
  • Operational compliance according to SOPs must be ensured.
  • Implementing Good Warehouse Practices and the Nestle Food Safety Management System in the distribution center is essential.
  • Frequent communication with internal teams, transporters, and team leaders to provide updates on all transport-related queries is necessary.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in transport planning, with hands-on expertise in analytics and inventory management, is required.
  • Effective communication skills are crucial for coordinating with various stakeholders, including internal and external team members.
  • The ability to identify and resolve issues or challenges that may arise during transport is essential.
  • Prioritizing tasks, setting realistic timelines, and ensuring timely delivery are crucial for success in this role.
  • Being adaptable and flexible in dealing with unexpected situations is important for success.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is mandatory.
