Technical Department Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Department Manager to oversee the technical department's operations, ensuring smooth and secure server management. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, ability to plan and coordinate training sessions, and monitor system logs for potential issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the technical department, overseeing both VTMS operators and installers, and ensure the secure operation of all servers and services.
  2. Plan and coordinate training sessions, workshops, and development opportunities for team members.
  3. Monitor system logs and activity on all servers, identifying potential security threats and implementing solutions.
  4. Develop and test new servers and services to enhance operational efficiency.
  5. Use a tracking system to log requests, monitor progress, track problem resolution, identify patterns of failure, research bug fixes, and implement solutions.
  6. Coordinate with vendors to resolve operating system issues related to hardware or software.
  7. Provide regular updates, status reports, and completion information to the project manager.
  8. Offer coaching and support to the VTS team (VTS installers and VTMS operators).
  9. Delegate tasks, follow up on their completion, and manage inventory of VTS units and installation/repair materials.
  10. Evaluate and improve technical processes to ensure efficient functioning during vehicle installation and emergency situations.
