Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Associate to join our team at HR POD - Hiring Talent Globally.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to work with us. As a Tax Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate account records and timely compliance with evolving regulations.

You will stay current with tax laws and regulations, providing clients with up-to-date guidance and advice. Your role will involve assisting clients in understanding and meeting tax and compliance requirements, minimizing the risk of penalties.

In this position, you will also assist in developing and implementing VAT strategies, policies, and procedures for clients. Additionally, you will execute VAT Registration, VAT Returns, VAT Refunds, and ensure they are submitted in line with regulations.

Other key responsibilities include executing Corporate tax registration, assisting the tax team in any requirements from the tax authority, and proactively interacting with clients to address inquiries, concerns, and tax advisory matters while ensuring compliance with legislative changes.

You will maintain accurate client account records and support clients in meeting their compliance obligations. This includes preparing a variety of tax returns for individuals and small businesses, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax codes to maximize benefits.

Your expertise will be required to advise clients on potential deductions, tax credits, VAT, and CT registration thresholds to minimize tax liabilities. You will review and analyze tax returns, conduct client interviews, and oversee the work of team members for accurate tax compliance.

Furthermore, you will calculate taxes owed by meticulously following tax regulations, verify and reconcile tax returns, ensuring compliance with VAT, CT, AML, ESR UBO laws, and resolve client queries promptly.

As a Tax Associate, you will also advise clients on relevant tax regulations, address complaints professionally, and recommend suitable financial products. Your organizational skills will be essential in maintaining accurate financial trackers, preparing weekly/monthly reports, and ensuring organized, up-to-date systems for management review.

Requirements
  • A university graduate in Finance and Accounting.
  • ACCA/ CA / CPA /CMA qualified or pursuing.
  • Proficient in VAT and Tax Computations.
  • 3-4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in an accounting firm.
  • Excellent knowledge of Accounting standards.
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Quality standards and quality assurance policy and procedure.
  • Proficient in English.
