We are looking for an experienced accounting professional to take on the role of Accounts Payable Team Lead. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing teams and implementing efficient processes.

About the Role

The Accounts Payable Team Lead will be responsible for leading a team of accounts payable professionals and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounts payable function. This includes supervising, training, and mentoring team members, as well as reviewing and approving AP transactions and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of accounts payable professionals and provide guidance on best practices.

  2. Review and approve AP transactions and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

  3. Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

  4. Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulations.

  5. Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.

  6. Collaborate with Procurement, Receiving, and other departments to improve workflow.

  7. Continuously review AP processes to identify efficiency gains and automation opportunities.

  8. Maintain AP master data, including vendor information and payment terms.

  9. Generate and analyze AP reports for management.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Experience:

  1. 4+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.

  2. 12 years in a supervisory or lead role strongly preferred.

Skills:

  1. Strong knowledge of AP processes and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).

  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.

  3. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  4. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in a shared services or multinational environment.

  2. Knowledge of tax regulations (e.g., VAT, GST) related to accounts payable.

  3. Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., OCR, RPA).
