Programme Coordinator Role

This is a challenging opportunity to work as a Programme Coordinator, leading the management and implementation of protection projects in Pakistan. The successful candidate will ensure synergies with concurrent protection programming in country, working closely with the Pakistan Protection Working Group, relevant protection-related working groups, the Pakistan Government and its provincial and district authorities.

The Programme Coordinator (Protection) will be responsible for managing and coordinating the development of IOM's protection activities, ensuring centrality of protection in line with IOM policies and procedures, applying and upholding standards in protection approaches and programming to ensure the rights and dignity of all persons and the reduction of protection risks.

  • Manage and coordinate the development of IOM protection activities.
  • Ensure synergy with concurrent protection programming in country.
  • Work closely with national and international humanitarian assistance authorities, agencies and organizations.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Political or Social Sciences, Business Administration, Migration Studies, International Relations, Law or a related field, with five years of relevant professional experience. Experience in migration, IDP and refugee assistance and protection, and demonstrated expertise in implementing and coordinating specialized protection programming are essential.

Key qualifications include:

  • Experience in migration, IDP and refugee assistance and protection.
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing and coordinating specialized protection programming.

We are seeking an individual who can work effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, beneficiaries, and the broader community to advance our objectives. Strong report writing skills and managerial & organizational skills are also required.

Language proficiency in English is mandatory, while fluency in another official UN language, Urdu and/or other local languages is an advantage.
