Senior Backend Developer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our core engineering team.

  • This role involves designing and maintaining robust backend architecture, managing APIs, integrating Stripe Connect Express for identity verification and payments, and ensuring high availability through best practices in DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, build, and maintain scalable backend APIs using Laravel or Node.js.
  2. Integrate and manage Stripe Connect & Connect Express for: Identity verification of service providers, Payout management and split transactions & Subscription-based plans and platform fees.
  3. Implement real-time messaging and job activity tracking features.
  4. Manage transaction lifecycle including escrow-like logic and platform commissions.
  5. Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for staging, QA, and production environments.
  6. Optimize backend performance for mobile responsiveness and large concurrent users.
  7. Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to maintain feature parity and API reliability.
  8. Build secure and scalable database schemas using MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  9. Monitor logs, performance metrics, and troubleshoot production issues.
  10. Ensure all systems follow data privacy, identity verification, and compliance standards.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of backend development experience in Laravel, Node.js, or similar frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of Stripe Connect, Express onboarding, payouts, and verification.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines.
  • Familiarity with real-time architecture such as WebSockets, Pusher, or Firebase.
  • Deep understanding of RESTful API design and OAuth2/Authentication flows.
  • Proficiency in relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Strong knowledge of version control (Git) and agile workflows (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud services (AWS, IONOS optional).
  • Excellent debugging, optimization, and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with message queues such as RabbitMQ, Redis, or Kafka.
  • Experience in background job processing such as Laravel Queues, Node BullMQ.
  • Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as Sentry, LogRocket, New Relic.
  • Knowledge of security standards like rate limiting, data encryption, and secure auth flows.
