Senior Software Engineer

A senior software engineer is responsible for developing server applications, including writing Restful APIs. The individual ensures the functionality, security, and performance of the server application align with the design and are bug-free.

The duties and responsibilities of a senior software engineer include:

  • Analyzing business requirements
  • Estimating assigned tasks
  • Writing code and unit tests
  • Collaborating with other team members
  • Tuning code for enhanced security and performance
  • Maintaining systems by fixing existing issues
  • Updating issue tracking software
  • Providing status updates
  • Communicating with clients
  • Controlling versions of code
  • Researching new technologies

Requirements for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in professional industry
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Javascript technologies
  • Knowledge of NodeJS and its available frameworks such as ExpressJS and NestJS
  • Knowledge and experience in writing backend components and Restful APIs
  • Understanding of security standards and compliances
  • Experience with different relational and schemaless databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
  • Creating database structure for required functionality
  • Experience with writing unit tests and ensuring minimum 90% test coverage
  • Knowledge of and experience with Github, JIRA, and other collaboration tools
  • Understanding of fundamental concepts and design principles
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies
  • Flexible attitude and versatile personality
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong influence among team members
