Assistant Librarian Position

This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can assist with the daily operations of our library. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting book circulation, cataloging, and other administrative tasks.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Check out and check in books, issue library cards, and collect fines.
  2. Maintain the organization of the library by shelving books and ensuring they are in the correct order.
  3. Catalog new books and materials using our online system.
  4. Manage the library's collection by creating displays, recommending new purchases, and removing outdated or damaged materials.
  5. Provide exceptional customer service to library patrons by answering their questions, helping them find resources, and informing them about library programs and services.
  6. Support programming efforts by planning events and workshops for library patrons of all ages.
  7. Perform various administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and tracking inventory.
Key Qualifications:
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Show proficiency in computer systems and experience with online cataloging software.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
