Dari Interpreter Role

The role of a Dari Interpreter is critical in providing essential support to asylum-seekers and refugees in the Lahore area.

Working closely with Case Managers and Community Protection Officers, the successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating communication between vulnerable individuals and our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Accurate Interpretation: Ensure seamless communication between parties during protection activities.
  2. Interpretation Services: Facilitate conversations, discussions, and counselling sessions with refugees and asylum-seekers, including sensitive topics like psycho-social counselling.
  3. Translation Services: Translate various documents, reports, and materials into Dari language as required.
  4. Record Management: Support the unit in collecting and maintaining records on country of origin information.
  5. Caseworker Support: Assist with contacting refugees via telephone at the request of protection caseworkers.
  6. Administrative Support: Complete referral forms and other documents, including updating information in the KOBO Toolbox database.
  7. Community Visits: Travel with CBP staff on community visits for interpretation and assistance as needed.
  8. Minute Taking: Provide administrative support to CBP teams and take minutes/notes.
  9. Clerical Duties: Perform clerical duties such as scanning, copying, and retyping translations and interview transcripts.
  10. Additional Tasks: Undertake additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
