Tax Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Associate to join our team at HR POD - Hiring Talent Globally. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for clients, providing expert guidance on tax laws and regulations. Your excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients will be essential in delivering exceptional service.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Interacting proactively with clients to address their inquiries, concerns, and issues.
  
• Conducting in-depth interviews with clients to gain a comprehensive understanding of their financial situations.
  
• Addressing and resolving customer complaints promptly and professionally.
  
• Recommending additional financial products and services that align with clients' needs.
  
• Advising clients regarding any relevant laws related to VAT, CT, AML, ESR, UBO, etc.
  
• Staying current with tax laws and regulations, providing clients with up-to-date guidance and advice.
  
• Assisting clients in understanding and meeting tax and compliance requirements, minimizing the risk of penalties.
  
• Calculating taxes owed by meticulously following tax codes and regulations.
  
• Preparing a wide range of tax returns, from simple to complex, for both individuals and small businesses.
  
• Strategically helping clients leverage federal, state, and local tax codes to maximize their eligible benefits.
  
• Identifying potential deductions, tax credits, and advising clients on minimizing tax liabilities.
  
• Overseeing the registration requirements and thresholds for VAT and CT.
  
• Verifying the accuracy of past tax returns and ensuring records are reconciled at all times.
  
• Referencing tax law handbooks for complex tax returns, ensuring compliance.
  
• Proficiently managing bookkeeping tasks, including Payables and Receivables Management.
  
• Overseeing the maintenance of Petty Cash and coordinating with banks for daily deposits.
  
• Maintaining meticulous records of client accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  
• Reviewing and analyzing financial records, including income statements and expenditure documentation.
  
• Regularly updating financial trackers and databases to reflect the most current information.
  
• Ensuring that tracking systems are accurate, well-organized, and accessible for reference and analysis.
  
• Utilizing electronic filing software to accurately prepare and file tax returns.
  
• Ensuring clients receive a copy of their completed tax return for their records.
  
• Preparing weekly/monthly summary reports to present to the management.
  

Requirements:

• 
  
• A university graduate in Finance and Accounting.
  
• ACCA/ CA / CPA /CMA qualified or pursuing.
  
• Proficient in VAT and Tax Computations.
  
• 3+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in an accounting firm.
  
• Have excellent knowledge of Accounting standards.
  
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  
• Quality standards and quality assurance policy and procedure.
  
• Proficient in English.
