Director of Web Presence

The Head of Product/Technology oversees the successful execution of our business mission through web presence development and deployment.

This entails envisioning service offerings as a web-based business, leading implementation of web applications, and planning for risk and growth.

The purpose of this role is to lead technology platforms from all perspectives including:

• Software development – commercial market-focused solutions;
• Product effectiveness as solution against market expectations and competition;
• Product Enhancement: Upgrading the product with its sales cycle to keep it competitive and generate more market penetration ultimately impacting revenue stream.
• Conceiving, planning, designing, and implementing overall policies and plans from product business requirement documents to architect to final finished product, upgrade, and cyber security.
• Providing overall services for IT-related business areas and maintaining record keeping and business solution proposal development.

In close collaboration with the Country Head, PMO & CEO:

• Identifying opportunities and risks for delivering services as a web-based business, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to business success.
• Identifying technology trends and evolving social behavior that may support or impede business success.
• Evaluating and identifying appropriate technology platforms (including web application frameworks and deployment stack) for delivering services.
• Leading strategic planning to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives and setting timetables for evaluation, development, and deployment of all web-based services.
• Product development strategies within commercial perspective: Complete understanding of market audience's needs within commercial domain and offer solutions through technology in a comprehensive well-defined manner.
• Conducting market surveys, attending client business meetings, and group presentations to fully understand product shortfalls against target market expectations, preparing solution amendment proposals for software development team to bring those challenges as effective solutions. Building constant relationships with development team to understand product development and provide feedback. Testing the final product and auditing quality of codes and data mechanisms.

In close collaboration with the CFO and Country Head:

• Ensuring effective implementation of technology department and compliance with financial plan.
• Overseeing development & implementation of annual technology budgets, negotiating with vendors and service providers for business related to tech.
• Ensuring that adequate internal control mechanisms are in place to control technology lapses.
• Overseeing annual and project-specific audit processes within country programme.

Management and Organizational Development:

• Providing leadership support to technology team and promoting best practices.
• Coordinating regular reviews and updates of tech teams resources policies and procedures for the business and ensuring compliance with business startup strategy.
• Overseeing adequate implementation of performance of technology systems including performance objectives and planning, review, appraisal, and staff development.
• Coordinating development of a staff development plan in line with strategic directions of Jagah-Online for country business plan for technology segment.
• Providing coaching and counseling advice to staff when necessary and leading initiatives to develop staff capacity. Recruiting best talent in this market for technology segment.
• Ensuring that country senior management team is effective, mutually supporting, and sufficiently involved in decision making.
