The role of Database Administrator involves the design and documentation of database architecture. This includes assessing malfunctions of hardware and/or software applications to determine appropriate actions to maintain computer, network, and database operations.
">Key responsibilities include building database schemes, tables, procedures, and permissions; creating, testing, and executing data management languages; developing database utilities and automated reporting; analyzing and sustaining capacity and performance requirements; monitoring systems and platforms for availability; overseeing backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, and failover; performing maintenance operations daily, weekly, and monthly on Oracle and SQL servers and databases, and information systems to ensure efficient program operations.
">In addition to these responsibilities, the Database Administrator will perform database backups and restorations, recover corrupted databases, evaluate and recommend new database technologies, implement and maintain database security and encryption, develop, manage, and test database and information system backup and recovery plans, develop standards and policies for data entry, ensure compliance, prepare written materials for documenting activities, providing written reference, and conveying information, and prepare and distribute reports.
">To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 2 years of total work experience. The ability to commute or relocate is also required. A fixed shift schedule is available.
