As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will play a vital role in the healthcare team. Your primary responsibility will be to draw blood samples from patients for laboratory testing. The tasks and duties associated with this position are multifaceted and require strong communication skills, empathy, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Explain procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner, ensuring they understand what to expect during the process.
  • Provide comfort and reassurance to nervous patients, creating a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
  • Take accurate readings of blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, using high-quality equipment and following established protocols.
  • Draw blood samples from patients, applying gentle and careful technique to minimize discomfort.
  • Apply bandages to patients' skin after blood has been drawn, taking care to ensure proper wound closure and healing.
  • Transport blood, urine, or fecal samples to the laboratory for testing, adhering to strict quality control measures.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and workspaces, maintaining a high level of hygiene and safety standards.
  • Update patient medical records accurately and efficiently, using electronic systems and software as required.
