The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the smooth and efficient running of our Microbiology section. This role requires a high degree of organization and leadership to ensure that all tests performed are validated according to CAP requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Test Validation: Ensure that all tests performed in the Microbiology section are validated according to CAP requirements.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to ensure that supplies are adequate and costs are minimized.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and documentation according to CAP requirements.
- Staff Management: Supervise staff members, including roster and leave management.
- POCT Management: Coordinate with other departments to manage Point of Care Testing.
- Result Communication: Ensure accuracy of results and communicate critical results effectively.
- Liaison with Clinicians: Liaise with clinicians during reporting of unusual or abnormal results.
- IT Interface: Coordinate with IT staff for interfacing and LIS development.
- Quality Control: Monitor internal and external quality control programs.
- Innovation: Develop innovative plans and procedures for improving lab services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology or related field.
- 5 years experience in laboratory management.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
