Backend Architect
This is a leadership position that requires expertise in building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will lead the design and implementation of backend services, ensuring robust cloud architecture and adherence to best practices.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and architect scalable, modular backend systems for optimal performance and maintainability.
  • Define and implement system-level components such as APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure that align with industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful and WebSocket APIs for seamless communication between frontend and backend systems.
  • Implement robust data processing, validation, and business logic layers to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS or Azure services and ensure alignment with industry standards.
  • Establish efficient deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools to streamline development and deployment processes.
  • Evaluate and improve the availability, fault tolerance, and scalability of backend services to meet evolving demands.
  • Design and manage relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB) databases to optimize data storage and retrieval.
  • Optimize database queries and develop effective data modeling strategies for large-scale applications.
  • Implement security best practices, including data encryption, secure API communication, and role-based access control to protect sensitive information.
  • Configure and monitor performance metrics for backend services to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop real-time communication features using WebSocket, MQTT, or similar protocols to facilitate seamless data exchange.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers to enhance code quality and productivity, promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in backend development, with a strong track record of delivering complex projects.
  • Proficiency in Node.js and its associated frameworks, with hands-on experience in building scalable and secure applications.
  • Strong understanding of API design principles, including RESTful and WebSocket APIs, to create intuitive and efficient interfaces.
  • Proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB), with expertise in optimizing database queries and designing effective schema.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure services, including EC2, RDS, S3, and Lambda, to leverage cloud capabilities and drive innovation.
  • Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWTs, and encryption protocols (e.g., TLS, AES) to ensure secure data transmission and storage.
  • Experience with real-time data handling protocols like WebSocket or MQTT to facilitate fast and efficient data exchange.
  • Proficiency with unit testing, integration testing, and debugging tools to ensure high-quality code and rapid issue resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of Git and workflows like GitFlow or trunk-based development to promote collaboration and version control.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, AWS Pipeline, or GitLab CI to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills to inspire and motivate team members, foster a culture of growth and development.
  • Effective communication skills to translate technical concepts for diverse stakeholders and drive project success.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to scalability and maintainability to deliver solutions that meet evolving needs.
  • Adaptability to work on multiple projects and domains, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and approaches.
  • Experience with serverless architectures and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, HIPAA) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js) for seamless API integration is a plus.
