Lead Distribution Manager

This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in corporate operations and engineering.

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our distribution region, ensuring profitable operations and maintaining a high level of system availability and effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction, manage front-line business operations, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Distribution Operations Planning: Develop, update, and implement a comprehensive distribution O&M plan covering regulators & relief devices, corrosion control, leak detection, unaccounted for gas, repairs & new construction, service lines, regulators, and customer meters.
2. Customer Service Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance business viability through well-managed customer service, accurate billing, and timely collection, complaint resolution, and budgetary control.
3. Team Leadership: Engage sub-regional or zonal heads, guide them on clear performance standards, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor their performance.
4. Talent Development: Support sub-regional or zonal heads, monitor performance, give timely praise and recognition, provide constructive feedback, and recognize underperformance where necessary.
5. Area Development: Collaborate with sub-regional or zonal heads and other regional employees to identify areas for development, encourage engagement in development opportunities, and identify self-development opportunities to share with peers and subordinates.
6. Inspection Program: Ensure regular inspections of regulators and relief valves to check physical condition, relief sizing capacity, pressure of relief devices, and regulators.
7. Cathodic Protection: Oversee implementation of defined procedures to maintain a corrosion control program for assigned piping systems within the region.
8. Leak Detection and Repair: Ensure adherence to procedures for design, installation, operation, and maintenance of cathodic protection (CP) systems, as well as adequate coating and CP system installation for new pipelines within the required timeframe.
9. Emergency Response Plan: Monitor threats to distribution pipelines, maintain emergency plans, train staff on those plans, and respond promptly to gas leakages and customer complaints.
10. Risk Management: Identify risks within the assigned service area and suggest mitigation actions.
11. Other Tasks: Perform any additional tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Promoting Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Assurance: Ensure proper health, safety, environment, and quality assurance in accordance with relevant international ISO standards (ISO 45000, ISO 14000, and ISO 9000).

Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare a budget for the respective region and consolidate budgets submitted by zones.

Target Setting and Achievement: Guide zones in setting annual targets to achieve growth in the distribution network while providing profitability to the region.

Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with SBU guidelines and programs to replace faulty meters installed within the region for correct billing and revenue prevention.

Regular Surveys and Patrolling Trips: Organize regular surveys and patrolling trips within the assigned service area.

Timely Response to Customer Complaints: Respond promptly to customer complaints received directly via contact center, customer facilitation center, PMDU, OGRA, and Wafaqi Mohtasib through Corporate Communications.

Uninterrupted Gas Supply: Ensure uninterrupted supply of natural gas to customers during peak hours within the assigned service area.

Bill Recovery Measures: Provide guidance to zones on bill recovery measures to meet revenue targets and prevent losses.
