Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Communication Specialist to spearhead our communications strategy across Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Mastery in Communications, Political Science, International Relations, Public Relations/Affairs, Marketing, Journalism is required for this position.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop impactful communication campaigns to promote IFC's role and impact in the region.
  2. Foster strategic partnerships with key industry, government, development and civil society groups.
  3. Position IFC's Country Manager and project team leads as thought leaders in the private sector development space across the country.
  4. Provide timely responses to inquiries about IFC operations.
  5. Support business growth and strengthen IFC's brand through various tools and resources.
  6. Create engaging content that appears on IFC's website, LinkedIn, Facebook, and as Op-Ed articles in newspapers and digital media outlets.
  7. Identify and mitigate reputational risks and clearly communicate the long-term development impact and IFC's value-add in high-profile projects.
  8. Cultivate media relations and secure press coverage for IFC initiatives in local and international media.
Deliverables:
  1. Produce and disseminate communication products such as media packets, news releases, op-eds, brochures, Q&As, presentations, briefing notes, online and social media content, speeches, etc.
  2. Coordinate scheduling and briefings for communications activities and events across the region.
  3. Offer technical and advisory support to IFC teams on trends, news developments, or changing circumstances that may impact IFC and its work.
  4. Handle procurement tasks and/or issues related to communication activities and events.
Key Requirements:
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of communications approaches, tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent working knowledge of social media platforms and processes.
  • Good knowledge of social, political, economic and business development issues.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and juggle multiple tasks.
  • Strong organizational, research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and build partnerships.
  • Some understanding of IFC and its work would be an advantage.
Education/Experience:

Master's degree (or equivalent) in communications, political science, international relations, public relations/affairs, marketing, journalism or any other related field, plus a minimum of two years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
