Hygiene Specialist

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a leading UN agency that promotes humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all.

In Pakistan, IOM supports the Government in implementing cross-border programming to help Afghan migrants and refugees. The organization contributes to promoting peaceful co-existence between host communities and Afghan migrants and refugees.

As part of its efforts, IOM Pakistan will support vulnerable communities hosting Afghan migrants and refugees to address humanitarian needs and reduce protection risks.

The WASH Hygiene Promotion Assistant plays a crucial role in coordinating and contributing to the implementation of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) activities in compliance with IOM's and donors' rules and regulations.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading community mobilizers and hygiene promoters in implementing community events to raise awareness about key hygiene issues and their implications on health.
• Assisting in preparing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Materials for use at the community level.
• Ensuring accurate conveyance of hygiene and sanitation messages.
• Prioritizing community-level hygiene awareness campaigns and prevention of water-borne diseases.
• Coordinating training for community representatives on hygiene, sanitation, and cholera control.
• Planning and ensuring accurate distribution of hygiene kits and household purification supplies.
• Collaborating with IOM Implementing partners to ensure accurate implementation of interventions.
