Sales Leader for Freelance Marketplaces

Media Marsons is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our sales efforts on Upwork. As Sales Leader, you will be accountable for revenue growth, client retention, and performance of our profiles across all niches.

This senior role requires a disciplined approach to bidding operations, profile optimization, and deal closures. You will maintain seamless onboarding, clear communication, and long-term retention of Upwork clients.

We value leaders who can balance the demands of freelance marketplaces with professionalism, accountability, and strategic foresight.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual Upwork revenue targets.
  • Develop strategies to grow deal flow and average contract size.
  • Provide accurate reporting and forecasting to the executive team.
  • Oversee daily bidding activity and enforce strict performance KPIs.
  • Ensure proposals are customized, professional, and bias-free.
  • Track open rates, response rates, and conversions to optimize pipeline health.
  • Manage company Upwork profiles, keeping portfolios, reviews, and case studies updated.
  • Align profile positioning with company goals and target niches.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within active Upwork clients.
  • Lead renewals and ensure continuity of recurring contracts.
  • Train, monitor, and audit bidding staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, measurable output, and high client satisfaction.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (Master's preferred). 5+ years of proven sales experience with at least 2 years managing teams (Upwork experience required). Demonstrated track record of hitting and exceeding revenue targets. Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
