Job Title: Senior Web Developer

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web development, with expertise in PHP frameworks and SQL databases. They should also have experience working with XML and JSON formats.

We are looking for an experienced professional who can architect, build and deliver modules that add to and improve the feature set, reliability, scalability and performance of our applications.

Responsibilities include acquiring and assisting in interpreting project requirements, creating functional specifications and determining the most efficient technologies to move forward.

Additionally, the candidate will research and improve current coding standards followed by the team, submit and review technical and process improvement recommendations, work with the team to plan new features, gather requirements and suggest solutions.

They will support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support), manage API integration, assist in analysis of product models, logical specifications and specified requirements.

Other responsibilities include performing complex programming assignments requiring an advanced aptitude of established programming standards and time-efficient methods, helping mitigate significant risks associated with projects, which have a high technical complexity and/or involve significant challenges to the functionality and accessibility.

Key Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent degree in the relevant field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Web Developer with PHP frameworks and proficiency in SQL databases using XML and JSON formats
  • In-depth knowledge of server-side structured programming languages
  • Exceptional understanding of fundamental front-end languages with expertise in HTML and CSS
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and other JS frameworks (AngularJS, ReactJS, Ajax) is preferable
  • Familiarity with database management systems
  • Solid understanding of web development best practices, including responsive design and accessibility
  • Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git and experience working with code repositories
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the team
  • Detail-oriented mindset and ability to deliver high-quality work within project timelines
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
