Executive Finance Leader

The ideal candidate will have a strong command of financial planning, taxation laws, and ERP systems.

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 10+ years of post-articleship experience
  • Proven managerial-level experience in handling both finance and taxation functions
  • Prior work experience in the coal or cement industry
  • Strong command of IFRS, Companies Act, and local tax laws
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP implementation and automation of financial processes
Key Responsibilities:Finance Division Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Financial Planning & Budgeting: Lead the preparation of short- and long-term financial plans aligned with business goals. Develop budgets for multiple entities under the group, incorporating industry-specific variables, particularly for coal and cement operations.
  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Ensure optimal cash flow to support operations and growth, particularly in industries with high working capital requirements like cement and coal. Manage banking relationships, investment planning, and fund utilization with a strategic view on liquidity and financial risk.
  • ERP/Accounting System Oversight: Oversee the successful implementation and maintenance of ERP systems to ensure integration and automation of all financial operations. Develop internal controls through ERP to reduce manual dependencies and improve real-time financial visibility.
Taxation Division Responsibilities
  • Direct & Indirect Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely filing of all local, provincial, and federal taxes. Maintain 100% compliance with evolving tax regulations and proactively address potential tax liabilities. Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation, particularly those affecting the coal and cement sectors.
  • Tax Return Filings & Liaison with Authorities: Manage all corporate, sales, and withholding tax filings. Liaise with tax bodies for assessments, audits, and clarifications. Ensure documentation is audit-ready at all times and that tax provisions are correctly calculated and accounted for.
  • Handling Tax Audits & Appeals: Take the lead in responding to tax audits and preparing appeal cases if necessary. Manage external tax consultants and legal advisors to ensure successful resolution of disputes.
