Library Assistant
We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to support the daily operations of our library by assisting with book circulation, cataloging, and other administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:- Assist with book circulation by checking books in and out, issuing library cards, and collecting fines.
- Help maintain the organization of the library by shelving books and ensuring they are in proper order.
- Catalog new books and materials using the library's online system.
- Assist with managing the library's collection by creating displays, recommending new purchases, and weeding out outdated or damaged materials.
- Provide excellent customer service to library patrons by answering questions, helping them locate materials, and providing information about library programs and services.
- Support programming efforts by helping to plan events and workshops for library patrons of all ages.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to inquiries, and keeping track of inventory.
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency with computers and experience working with online cataloging systems.
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
