Manufacturing Design Engineer

The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background, with expertise in manufacturing design that emphasizes efficiency optimization and material wastage reduction. This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless coordination between design and production teams, as well as aligning manufacturing processes with innovative design outputs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and optimize manufacturing designs for furniture and interior solutions, ensuring feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Collaborate closely with the production and operations teams to ensure design output aligns with manufacturing capabilities.
  3. Perform wastage calculations to optimize material usage and reduce production costs.
  4. Oversee the order processing cycle, ensuring accurate design execution from concept to final product.
  5. Partner with vendors and suppliers to source cost-effective materials while maintaining quality standards.
  6. Implement design improvements based on production feedback and market trends.
  7. Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) to create detailed technical drawings and 3D models.
  8. Maintain compliance with industry standards and quality assurance protocols in design execution.
  9. Support new product development (NPD) initiatives with innovative and practical design solutions.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing or related field).
  2. 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role within the furniture, construction, or related industries.
  3. Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and finishing techniques.
  4. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
  5. Knowledge of wastage calculation and optimization techniques in design and production.
  6. Ability to manage design projects while ensuring timely execution.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  8. Excellent communication and coordination skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
