Senior E-Commerce Developer

• Design, develop, and maintain robust WordPress backend solutions, including custom themes, plugins, and APIs, with a strong focus on WooCommerce functionality
• Architect and optimize WooCommerce stores for performance, scalability, and security, including product management, order workflows, and payment/shipping integrations
• Customize WooCommerce themes and plugins to meet specific business requirements and enhance e-commerce capabilities
• Integrate and manage various payment gateways, shipping modules, and third-party services using WooCommerce APIs
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues in both staging and production WooCommerce environments
• Implement and enforce coding standards, security best practices, and quality assurance processes for e-commerce projects
• Lead or mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure high code quality across WordPress and WooCommerce projects
• Oversee database management, optimize queries for high-traffic WooCommerce stores, and ensure data integrity and security
• Collaborate with DevOps for hosting, caching, and CDN strategies to maximize uptime and speed for online stores
• Stay updated with the latest WordPress and WooCommerce updates, plugin ecosystem changes, and e-commerce trends

Key Responsibilities:

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 4+ years of professional experience in WordPress backend development, including significant WooCommerce project work
• Advanced proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and WordPress core architecture
• Proven experience developing and customizing WooCommerce stores, plugins, and themes from scratch
• Strong knowledge of WooCommerce APIs, payment gateways, shipping integrations, and e-commerce best practices
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery) for effective collaboration and WooCommerce customization
• Comfortable with GIT, Composer, and local development environments (e.g., Docker, XAMPP)
• In-depth knowledge of web performance optimization, caching strategies, and SEO best practices for e-commerce
• Solid understanding of Security, Caching
• Strong grasp of security principles as they apply to WordPress and WooCommerce applications
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, Agile team
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with headless WordPress or Jamstack architectures
• Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js) is a plus
• Exposure to cloud hosting environments and DevOps practices
• Previous experience leading small teams or mentoring junior developers
