Expert in Climate Resilience

Job Summary:

A Climate Change Specialist is needed to conduct climate risk and vulnerability assessments, develop adaptation and mitigation strategies, and ensure project compliance with national climate policies. They must have expertise in climate change analysis, strategic planning, and policy development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct climate risk assessments for infrastructure and development projects, analyzing the impact of climate change on project outcomes.
• Develop and implement climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies, integrating them into project planning.
• Ensure project compliance with national climate policies, NDCs (Nationally Determined Contributions), and international frameworks.
• Prepare and review Climate Change Impact Assessments (CCIA) and integrate findings into project planning.
• Provide technical guidance on low-carbon, energy-efficient, and sustainable construction practices, supporting the integration of renewable energy and green building concepts.
• Monitor greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, carbon footprint, and recommend reduction measures.
• Prepare climate-related reports, proposals, and policy briefs for management and clients.
• Conduct capacity-building and awareness programs for staff and partners on climate resilience, enhancing their knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

5-8 years of experience in climate change, environmental management, or sustainability projects, proven track record in climate risk assessments, adaptation planning, and mitigation strategies, experience working with international donors, NGOs, or government bodies.

Preferred Qualifications:

B.E. Civil Engineering or M.E. Civil Engineering with a Master in Environmental Engineering.
