Middleware Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Middleware Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining middleware systems to support enterprise applications.


About the Role:
  • This role involves working closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of applications and systems while optimizing performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Install, configure, and maintain middleware technologies (experience with Websphere, Weblogic, Tomcat, JBoss, Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar)
  2. Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of middleware systems
  3. Design and implement solutions for system and application integration
  4. Automate routine tasks, processes, legacy data fusion
  5. Optimize middleware performance and recommend improvements
  6. Design and development of middleware components
  7. Design and implement API necessary for the integration and/or data consumption
  8. Work independently and collaboratively on a multi-disciplined project team in an Agile development environment

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience developing Java, Spring, Python
  • Understanding Relational Databases, such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres or similar
  • Fluency in Java/J2EE, JSP, Web Services. Must have experience with JAVA 8 or higher
  • Experience with JMS, Kafka, IBM MQ or similar
  • Experience using software project tracking tools such as Jira
  • Familiarity with Azure services
  • Proven experience with CI/CD. Proven experience with Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Proven experience with version control (Git hub, Bitbucket)
  • Familiarity with Linux OS/concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university is required.
