About the Division:

The position requires a skilled verbal and written communicator who can confidently interact with senior executives, accountants, and colleagues. You should be driven to perform, results-oriented, and willing to take on new challenges. You possess excellent interpersonal skills and are an enthusiastic self-starter. You are extremely organized and do not let details slip through the cracks. You have the curiosity to understand our business and provide your assistance in reviewing and analyzing information to provide data to the team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for monthly financial accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and financial analysis, to ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly financial results for our Business Unit.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including Income Statement.
  • Responsible for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
  • Lead quarterly forecast process by partnering with Business Units leadership.
  • Compare actual results with forecast to analyze and identify areas of strengths and weakness.
  • Liaise with the various Business Unit Managers to provide support as required.
  • Prepare account reconciliations, including prepayment and accruals schedules, on a monthly basis.
  • Review account reconciliations prepared by Financial Analysts.
  • Prepare monthly commissions schedule for payroll processing.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis as required by Management.
  • Prepare note disclosures for quarter-end and year-end.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests as required.
  • Continuously improve procedures; develop reports to drive insight and accountability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance (BBA, Comm, etc.) with preference given to those with relevant further study/designations (CGA/CMA/CA).
  • Minimum of three to five years' experience as a senior financial analyst, financial analyst, or in a similar position.
  • Experience working with Power BI and Advanced MS Office Excel.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, adjust, and respond professionally to changing priorities and ad hoc issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interact with all levels of management. Possesses strong leadership/command skills and demonstrates organizational agility.
  • Ability to learn new concepts and tasks quickly, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Excellent technical learning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of IFRS is an asset.
  • Experience with Great Plains or other accounting software is an asset.
