Job Overview:

This role involves developing, managing, and coordinating a comprehensive speech and language program for students/trainees facing oral communication challenges.

Main Responsibilities
  • Professional Support: Offer expert advice to help teachers, parents/caregivers, and professionals understand clients' speech, language, and communication difficulties.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work with colleagues to develop practical solutions and recommendations for students/trainees with speech and language disorders.
  • Diagnostic Evaluation: Assess, diagnose, treat, and follow up on students/trainees with speech and language disorders, focusing on swallowing difficulties.
  • Evaluation and Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve treatment outcomes and service quality.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and efficient client records and documentation.
  • Treatment Implementation: Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on assessment results.
  • Discharge Procedures: Document discharge criteria and refer students/trainees to other services as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Accredited Degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Effective Communication Skills and Teamwork.
  • Relevant Experience Working with Children to Young Adults with Intellectual Disability (Desirable).
  • Independence and Minimal Supervision Required.
  • Valid AHPC Practising Certificate.
