Security and Compliance:

As a DevOps Security Engineer at IRVINEi, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our infrastructure and applications. This includes designing and implementing robust security measures for dedicated servers, cloud, and bare metal environments, as well as collaborating with development and operations teams to identify and address bottlenecks in the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement security measures for dedicated servers, cloud, and bare metal environments.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify and address bottlenecks in the software development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application development, deployment, and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices and organizational policies.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of DevOps strategies and processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Manage and secure multiple application environments (dev, stage, pre-prod, prod).
  • Develop and execute automation scripts to ensure security compliance and efficiency.
  • Configure and maintain security measures on employee laptops and other devices.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage and configure Jenkins and GitLab for secure builds and deployments.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
  • Develop and implement incident response and disaster recovery plans.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the organization.

Requirements:
  • Strong experience in server security and management.
  • Proficiency in managing cloud and bare metal environments (OVH and Hetzner experience a plus).
  • Knowledge of virtualization environments (e.g. VMWare, OpenStack, KVM).
  • Experience working on open source platforms (Apache, Tomcat, nginx, Node.js, etc).
  • Installing and administering MySQL or open source no-SQL databases.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools like Jenkins and GitLab.
  • Automation scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience managing multiple application environments.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with dedicated servers.
