Job Description:

The role of the Chief Financial Officer involves overseeing the company's financial operations to ensure they are sound and aligned with its overall strategy and goals.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive financial strategy, including managing financial risks, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring the company's financial stability.
  • Overseeing the preparation of accurate, timely, and compliant financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and Joint Venture Operations requirements.
  • Developing the company's annual budget and long-term financial forecasts, and ensuring that it operates within budgetary constraints.
  • Managing the company's capital structure, including raising capital, managing debt, and making investment decisions that maximize shareholder value.
  • Identifying and managing financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk, and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensuring that the company's accounting practices and financial controls are robust and compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Managing the company's tax strategy, including identifying tax planning opportunities and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Managing the company's cash flow and liquidity, including overseeing the management of cash reserves and short-term investments.
  • Leading the finance team and ensuring they operate effectively and deliver high-quality financial services.

  • Business acumen: A strong understanding of the oil exploration industry and the ability to align financial initiatives with business goals.
  • Risk management: The ability to identify and manage financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk.
  • Analytical skills: The ability to analyze financial data and metrics to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
Job Specification:

A member of a recognized body of professional accountants with at least five years of relevant experience; or a person holding a master's degree in finance from a recognized university with at least ten years of relevant experience.
