Application Support Role

We are seeking a skilled Application Support Analyst to join our team. As an Application Support Analyst, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to users of our software applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of application servers, job scheduling, clustering, replication, and system availability tools. You will also have experience with troubleshooting software issues, user training, and report generation. Additionally, you should be proficient in SQL for report generation, data correction, and issue troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and maintaining utilities and automated reporting tools to streamline operations and enhance decision-making.
  • Conducting user training sessions to ensure effective use of applications and new features.
  • Liaising with external vendors and development teams for issue resolution, application enhancements, and system updates.
  • SUPPORTING application implementations and providing front-end application support during deployment and post-go-live phases.
  • Generating reports using queries; resolving data and reporting issues in real time.
  • Refining and automating recurring processes, tracking application issues, and maintaining documentation of changes.
  • Managing job scheduling, availability, clustering, and replication tasks related to applications.
  • Troubleshooting performance issues affecting application usability for end users.
  • Maintaining application audit controls and log files to ensure data integrity and security compliance.
  • Proposing and implementing stored procedures (SPs) and functions to improve control and automation.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, SQL certification) are a plus.

Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in application support, systems analysis, or software implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting software issues, user training, and report generation.
  • Exposure to working with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
  • Experience in 24x7 support environments and incident management is an advantage.

Technical Knowledge
  • Proficient in SQL for report generation, data correction, and issue troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of application servers, job scheduling, clustering, replication, and system availability tools.
  • Familiarity with application auditing, logging, and user access control management.
  • Understanding of scripting or automation tools for process optimization.
  • Experience with application lifecycle management and software implementation best practices.
  • Familiarity with tools for monitoring application performance and managing support tickets.
