Quality Assurance Specialist

About the Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to lead our testing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and at least 03 years of experience in quality control / quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate and test new software applications according to business and functional requirements.
  2. Lead the creation, preparation, and conduct of quality reviews and develop test plans and scripts.
  3. Apply test methodology and product knowledge to design tests and testing strategies for product analysis and certification.
  4. Function as a subject matter expert in testing with an in-depth understanding of software testing techniques, practices, policies, and procedures.
  5. Coach others on various testing approaches and provide functional, black-box, and user acceptance testing expertise.
  6. Utilize business flow, system usage patterns, and compliance requirements to exercise the system under test.
  7. Influence software development decisions by reviewing work and providing recommendations for design or testing approach.
  8. Define and execute test plans, ensuring all business requirements are assessed and addressed to meet performance targets.
  9. Participate in activities to ensure timely deliverables, including day-to-day planning and coordination with Testers and Developers.
  10. Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  11. Work with product designers and developers at all stages to promote quality.
  12. Produce test plans and ensure they are followed, assign work to junior QA/QC Engineers, and produce bug reports.
  13. Verify load, scalability, and performance requirements are met and work with developers to perform root-cause analysis.
Requirements:
  1. A minimum of 05 years' experience for Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, 03 years for Quality Assurance Engineer, and Fresh/01 year for Junior Quality Assurance Engineer in quality control / quality assurance.
  2. High proficiency in SQL, PL-SQL, AJAX, XHTML, DHTML, XML, UML, MS Visio.
  3. Profound knowledge of Software Quality Assurance and Software Testing principles and standards.
  4. Good communication skills and ability to organize and lead testing efforts.
  5. Ability to write a test approach/strategy and conduct test risk analysis.
  6. Understanding of SQL Queries, Views, and Stored Procedures, and experience with basic testing types including Component (Black Box), Security, Usability, Web Services, Mainframe, Database, and Desktop/Client.
  7. Excellent communication skills for documenting and reporting defects and other software issues.
  8. Strong problem-solving ability and programming knowledge of Java is an asset.
  9. Experience with web-based database applications and automation tools is preferred.
