Job Title: Senior Tax Specialist

The role of a Senior Tax Specialist is to provide expert tax planning and support to the organization. Key responsibilities include managing overall tax planning, refunds, exemption planning, and routine tax matters.

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Minimum of two years experience in tax management, preferably in the paint manufacturing or chemical raw material industry.
  2. A deep understanding of Sales Tax practices and exemptions.
  3. Strong knowledge of the Income Tax Ordinance and experience in obtaining various admissible exemptions under the law.
  4. Expertise in import and GST-related SROs.
  5. Experience in obtaining refunds from the Income Tax Department.
  6. Familiarity with double taxation treaties.
  7. Ability to review and countercheck routine tax returns submitted by the company.
  8. Responsibility for handling all tax audits.
  9. Conducting complex tax research to provide benefits to the organization.
  10. Preparing tax planning documents.
  11. Collaborating with accounting staff members in client meetings as required.
  12. Reviewing tax accruals.
  13. Analyzing Tax authorities' notices and drafting responses.
  14. Reviewing Tax authorities' notice responses prepared by other tax personnel.
  15. Delegating work to tax staff and supervising their work through a proper work plan.
  16. Making presentations to management regarding any issues identified.
  17. Preparing Tax MIS and incorporating it into software.
  18. Updating senior management regarding any potential or actual changes in the tax environment through regular Tax Alerts.
