Job Overview

The AI Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring technical compatibility, cost efficiency, and compliance with industry standards for project requirements. This position collaborates with internal teams and procurement specialists to optimize sourcing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Electrical Design Team to create assembly drawings for complete equipment schedules, reducing processing time for equipment take-offs using Esticom.
  • Coordinate with Procurement for regular updates to Procore cost catalog and assemblies.
  • Assist in optimizing and standardizing electrical component selection to balance cost, performance, and availability.
  • Review Esticom take-offs and generate a complete BOM and BOQ for a project.
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers based on technical compliance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Review vendor technical documentation, material specifications, and certifications.
  • Explore and implement AI-powered tools for process improvement, automation, and standardization.
  • Ensure selected components and materials align with engineering design and project needs.
  • Provide technical justifications for supplier selection to Engineering and Procurement teams.
  • Collaborate with Value Engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities in sourcing.
  • Recommend alternative materials or vendors that meet or exceed project specifications.
  • Ensure procured components meet industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct technical assessments of materials for long-term reliability and compatibility.
  • Resolve supplier-related technical issues through collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Act as liaison between Engineering, Procurement, and Suppliers to streamline technical approvals.
  • Provide detailed technical reports, supplier evaluations, and recommendations to the Electrical Engineering Manager.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain Management from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical design, procurement, supply chain, or vendor evaluation within the electrical industry.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and related Autodesk software, as well as experience with ERP systems (SAP, Procore, Oracle, etc.).
  • Knowledge of AI-driven procurement technologies or experience working with data-driven decision-making tools.
  • Demonstrated electrical, structural, and mechanical design skills, along with the ability to accurately read highly detailed construction drawings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
