
Strategic IT Project Lead

As a Strategic IT Project Lead, you will spearhead the delivery of high-priority projects across various business units, ensuring timely and within-budget execution. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to establish clear project objectives and drive implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic leader, fostering an environment where teams excel by establishing effective relationships between teams and stakeholders, and protecting teams from external disruptions.
Promote open communication and transparency while focusing on predictability, quality delivery, continuous improvement of team processes, and overall program success.
Facilitate team creativity and aim to enhance team efficiency by identifying and implementing process improvements.
Oversee Scrum teams delivering software solutions using Agile methodologies.
Arrange regular meetings, facilitate workshops, schedule demos, and decision-making processes to ensure swift evaluation and adaptation.
Organize sprint planning sessions and help the Product Owner maintain product backlogs in excellent shape for upcoming sprints.
Demonstrate expertise in estimation and planning, creating practical plans for software development projects.
Integrate Agile principles into team practices and work products, promoting incremental delivery and continuous improvement.
Maintain relevant Agile metrics, ratios, and charts providing organizational visibility and insight into team performance, demonstrating continuous growth.
Utilize team feedback and metrics to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
Coach individuals and facilitate interactions over processes, best practices, and tools, guiding the team toward successful outcomes using Agile Scrum.
Clarify goals and actions for the team or individuals to achieve them effectively.
Shield teams from distractions and ensure the correct use of the Scrum process.
Onboard and mentor less-experienced team members.
Proactively address risks and impediments, facilitating quick resolutions through collaboration with company networks.
Monitor team velocity to plan product backlogs effectively.
Educate and promote Agile engineering practices such as pair programming, continuous delivery, TDD, BDD, and refactoring.
Evaluate and inspect team and individual performance quarterly with transparency using established key performance indicators.
Act as a career coach for team members, helping them understand their strengths and develop competencies for future growth.
Become proficient in a specific domain and provide feedback to the Business Analysis team on documentation and UX improvements.
Collaborate closely with Client Services to monitor support ticket SLAs and identify opportunities for enhancements.
Be responsible for Agile estimating, planning, and forecasting.
Cultivate Agile practices and Scrum values to foster the right culture.
Facilitate daily scrums, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Resolve inter-team and intra-team conflicts.
Remove impediments and roadblocks.
Create communication channels between teams, stakeholders, and Product Owners.
Implement processes and policies.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Sciences, or a related field.
Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and its processes and procedures.
Proven track record of delivering software applications in Agile environments.
At least 9-10 years of experience in software development environments.
Proven experience in coaching Scrum teams to adopt new practices by focusing on Scrum values, Agile manifesto values, and principles.
Knowledge of Agile techniques like User Stories, Continuous Integration, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, and Agile Games.
Experienced in coaching new Agile teams, cross-functional team members (Dev, QA, BA, Architecture), Product Owners, and Product Managers to achieve best practices.
Knowledge of the value of metrics and incremental delivery.
Knowledge of backlog tracking, burn-down metrics, velocity, and task definition.
Ability to communicate Agile concepts and benefits to teams and stakeholders, finding creative solutions that align with leadership objectives.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills, coaching, and mentorship experience across multiple engagements/workshops.
Excellent communication skills with solid oral, written, and presentation skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to receive feedback constructively to improve development.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from an accredited certification body.
Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is preferred.
Proven experience coaching Product Owners in product backlog management techniques, such as Agile user stories with acceptance criteria, and breaking them into smaller tasks to achieve transparency.
Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, inspire, and motivate people to change their values and practices, as evidenced by experience persuading key stakeholders to become servant leaders and empower those using the Scrum framework.
Proven experience creating transparency using information radiators, helping teams create velocity tracking and graphs using Agile project management software or advanced Microsoft Excel skills, allowing teams to monitor their own progress.
